A pilot is travelling DH to operate a flight from another station. Should the pilot check-in and undergo BA before his DH flight?
Yes, following are the guidelines:
• A pilot who is dead-heading (DH) to operate a flight from another station must check-in and undergo the BA before his DH flight.
• Only under specific circumstances where the above cannot be achieved due to operational requirements or exigency, i.e. BA and check-in after DH but before operating a flight, then the pilot should check-in and undergo the BA at the station where he/she begins operating a flight. In such exceptional cases, cockpit scheduling will communicate the same to the pilot.
