How is sector pay calculated?

The methodology for calculation of sector pay is explained below:  •    The sector value for each sector is determined by taking the preceding 90 days average block for the flight within a particular hourly slot. For, e.g., for a DEL-BOM sector between 0600-0700 hrs. 0800-0900 hrs., etc. for the preceding 90 days. •    The longest 10% and the shortest 10% of the flights are removed for the purpose of calculation. The average of the remaining 80% of the flights is considered as the sector value for the purpose of payment of sector pay.  •    Further to that, each sector value in a particular hourly slot will be revised by one-half of the difference between the 90 days moving average and the current sector value and adding that to the current sector value. For Example, the 90 days moving average for a DEL-BOM sector during the hourly slot of 1700-1800 hrs. is 120 minutes. The current sector value for the same flight in the same slot of 1700-1800 hrs. is 110 minutes. 50% of the difference between the two values is 5 minutes. Therefore, the new sector value for the sector of DEL-BOM, between the hours of 1700-1800 hrs. will be 115 minutes.
