How is STL flying planned for Co-Pilots who have cleared their ATPL exams?
In the past, the pilot training team and the scheduling team have worked on a process to enhance STL flying. A list of co-pilots was shortlisted based on their seniority, ATPL expiration date, and their base. The list was then created into a category and the system automatically planned these pilots with STL cleared Captains keeping operational feasibility in mind.
However, as of now this practice has been stopped as this process was creating a direct impact on the productivity, utilization, and meeting of the minimum cockpit experience required as per policy. We will continuously evaluate the impact of this policy and revise it as and when it is deemed possible.
