What are the different timelines for the issuance of AEP for Indian National Pilots and AEP/FATA for Expatriate Pilots?
The AEP is issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security. The pilots have to submit the required forms and supporting documents at their respective bases well in advance before the expiry of their current AEP. The Flight Operations department will send out an email with all the required forms/list of documents to the pilots along with a sample form for issue of FRESH/RENEWAL AEP.
• For Indian National Pilots based in DEL/BOM/MAA/HYD/CCU/AMD, the issue/renewal of AEP takes around 15-20 days.
• For Indian National Pilots based in BLR/JAI/PNQ, the issue/renewal of AEP takes around 20-25 days as these bases do not have a regional BCAS office.
• For Expatriate Pilots, the fresh issue/renewal of AEP takes about 20-25 days from the day the form is submitted to BCAS. To apply for the AEP, the expatriate pilot must be in possession of a valid FATA and Residential Permit (RP).
• Some of the common reasons for delay in issuance of AEP for Indian Pilots are non-availability of police verification, and validity of CPL/ATPL.
• For Expatriate Pilots, the common reasons for delay are Validity of FATA, Residential Permit, or Visa.
