What is a local night? What is the last landing time for a pilot so that his/her local night for weekly rest is not impinged upon?

Indigo follows a fixed 8-hour period between the hours of 0000 and 0800 Hrs. Local Time as the definition of local night. A pilot is to be provided a weekly rest of 36 hours including 2 local nights (0000-0800Hrs), such that there shall never be more than 168 hours between the end of one weekly rest period and the start of another. For planning purposes, this is restricted to 144 hours. Following are some scenarios that may occur during line flying: For the purpose of planning, a pilot shall be deployed on a flight that should not impinge into his/her local night immediately preceding his/her weekly rest. A flight should be ‘chocks on’ latest by 2245 Hrs. local time, for the pilots local night to remain valid. However, due to unforeseen circumstances a flight may get delayed resulting in the pilot landing after 2245 Hrs. Local night.  A ‘chocks on’ time later than 22:45 hrs. would result in the pilots local night being impinged and hence the pilot’s weekly rest would have to be extended by one more night to cater for 2 consecutive local nights. The above timings are valid for flights landing immediately before the weekly rest night. In case the pilot is marked ‘OFG’ but it is not his/her weekly rest, then the restriction of 22:45 Hrs. or earlier does not apply The earliest reporting time (for the purpose of operating a flight) for a pilot after completing his/her weekly rest should be at or later than 08:45 Hrs. Local time. Hence, the earliest departure time for a flight a pilot can undertake after completing his/her weekly rest will be at 09:45 Hrs. Local time or later.  The earliest DH flight a pilot can undertake after completing his/her weekly rest should be at or later than 0930 Hrs. Local Time.
